ST2410 24 inch HD monitor

I recently purchased a Studio XPS 435T with the ST2410 24 inch HD monitor. I bought an HDMI cable to connect the monitor to my computer. The problem is that when I boot up the computer the screen goes black and enters power save mode. If i turn the monitor back on it says it is not receiving a signal from the computer. I change the HDMI cable to the standard VGA cable and the display comes back on. Any ideas what is causing this?

* Turn the monitor and PC off
* Reconnect the HDMI to both and disconnect the VGA from both
* Disconnect the monitor power cord from the bottom of the monitor
* Hold in the monitor power button for 10 seconds
* Reconnect the monitor power cord
* Power on the monitor first, then the PC
* Switch to HDMI via the monitor Input Source Select button
* While both are on, do a Start- Shutdown from windows. If the monitor fails to sync up the HDMI signal, switch to HDMI via the monitor Input Source Select button

While both are on, switch to HDMI via the monitor Input Source Select button. Does the windows desktop appear?

When i switch it to HDMI the screen goes black and a blue box pops up and says "entering power save mode" and cuts off. So I have to switch it back to VGA via the monitor input source button and the screen comes back up

So you tested our video card driver the retail one? If yes, get the monitor replaced. If the issue occurs with the replacement, the monitors were not at fault.

I downloaded the newest driver from the Nvidia website right after I got the computer. If I need to get the monitor replaced how do I go about doing that? And if the monitor is not the problem then what else could it be?

Maybe I'm too late but just in case you still haven't gotten this problem resolved....I had the exact same issue.  Finally I figured out that there were multiple DVI in th back of the CPU so (after connecting the display cable to the DVI-TO-VGA adapter)  I tried it in a different DVI slot and it came right on!  Hallelujah!  Well hope this helps if you haven't gotten any help by now.
